Steve Murray is well-known for being a prosperous participant in the private equity investment sector. He was a founding partner of the CCMP Capital as well as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Murray passed on at 52 years old on the 12th March 2015. CCMP recognizes him for making several significant contributions that facilitated the development of the firm and its predecessor.

During his long and inspiring career, Stephen was an employee of the Manufacturer Hanover Corporation, and he worked for the firm’s credit analyst training program as form 1984. He later joined the MH Equity Corporation, which had its leveraged finance unit merged with the private equity section of the Manufacturers Hanover.

In 1991, Manufacturers Hanover got acquired by Chemical Bank, and the MH Equity became integrated into the Chemical Venture Partners. JP Morgan selected Mr. Murray to serve as the buyouts business leader in 2005, where he played a significant role in stabilizing the private equity enterprise. Stephen cofounded the JP Morgan Chase spinoff (CCMP Capital) in 2006 and at that time the company only had a takeover group and an investment development team. The company appointed him as CEO in 2007 and under his leadership, CCMP Capital rapidly grew to a worth of 12 billion dollars.
