Amicus Therapeutics is an international, public American-based biotechnology company that deals with treatments’ for rare and orphan diseases such as genetic corrective skin disorder, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), The Pompe Disease and the Lysosomal Storage Disorder Fabry Disease. It is headquartered in Cranbury, New Jersey and has developed several centers such as the commercial organization, inventive science and clinical programs that ensure the needs of all patients are met. The company has over 500 employees. In 2008, it expanded its research center through opening a second research center in San Diego.

The company was publicly launched in 2007 under the trading symbol FOLD of the NASDAQ. In 2010, the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation gave Amicus Therapeutics a $210,300 grant for support of pre-clinical work in collaboration with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai through the Alzheimer’s disease research center. Later, in November 2013, Amicus Therapeutics obtained their competitor company Callidus Biopharma. This helped it to get the appropriate materials and academic properties to treat the Pompe Disease through the Enzyme Replacement Therapy. This is a disease that damages the nerve cells and muscles throughout the body caused by accumulated glycogens in the lysosome.

In 2015, the company acquired Scioderm, a company that was developing a treatment for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), which was known as Zorbalisa or SD-101 (https://seekingalpha.com/article/4073303-amicus-therapeutics-small-biotech-seems-big-mo). This disease is characterized by reoccurring blisters on the skin and fragileness of the skin where the slightest friction or trauma tears it. This treatment was meant to trigger the closure of the wounds and reduce the area coverage of the blisters on the surface of the body.

The company had a three-year collaboration, from 2010 to 2013, with JCR Pharmaceutical and GlaxoSmithKline to conduct research on packaging multiple drugs in one pill with recombinant DNA. This was done with the aim of clinically bringing together genetic materials from different DNA (ReleaseFact). The Michael J. Fox Foundation also gave Amicus Therapeutics a 500,000 dollar grant to support the research done in partnership with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Most people consider cyber attacks to be a problem only for big corporations. The truth is that even individuals like you and me are prone to cyber attacks and can result in emotional and financial losses (https://hitechchronicle.com/2017/08/how-rubica-helped-me-move-forward-after-i-was-hacked/). Being a writer, I write down all my ideas on my laptop.

One day, I was working on my laptop and was happy as I was on the verge of completing one of my books. Suddenly, my screen went blank for a few seconds and then there was a blinking red and white light. Later a message appeared on my screen where they asked me to call a number, or they would release my personal information. I was in a state of shock and tried doing everything, but I was not able to regain control of my computer. I had to pay a huge ransom to get out of it otherwise my years of work would have been lost.

When people ask me about personal cyber security, I share my own experience with ransomware and encourage people to take cyber threats seriously and do everything they can to secure themselves. Personal cyber security companies such as Rubica allow people to protect their personal information when they are online. Since the internet has become a necessity today rather than a luxury, Rubica offers customized and highly effective personal cyber security solutions depending on their needs.

Osteo Relief Institute is an organization made up of multidisciplinary clinics located in different areas that deal with the treatment of all osteoarthritis diseases. It has a group of physical therapists and physicians who have been board certified. The clinics offer surgeries with safe and efficient therapies with little or no side effects. It uses FDA cleared and certified state-of-the-art technologies to carry out these surgeries. Each clinic is separately owned and has highly trained in patient-centered care. The clinic has invested in most advanced technology to be able to pinpoint the pain in the joint and determine whether it’s severe or minor and recommend the best possible treatment.

Arthritis though a common disease, it’s not very well understood (HealthGrades). Arthritis refers to conditions affecting the joints thus causing pain. There are 100 different kinds of arthritis and more than 50 million adults in the United States are affected. This condition is most common amongst women, and it mainly affects people as they age. It is the number one cause of disability in the U.S. The most common type of arthritis is the degenerative joint disease scientifically known as Osteoarthritis. It is mostly characterized by deterioration of the soft tissue located between the joints called cartilage.

The Osteo Relief Institute offers surgical and non-surgical methods of osteoarthritis treatment. The non-surgical methods include non-steroids anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDS) which provide relief for painful joint inflations. It also includes lubricating injections which mitigate the joints to provide a layer of protection from dilapidation. Physical therapy is also another non-surgical method which strengthens the lineaments, muscles, and tendons thus helping reduce and prevent arthritis from worsening.

Severely damaged joints do not respond to medication or non-surgical methods. Therefore, it’s imperative to use surgery. Arthroscopy can be used to smoothen rough surfaces and remove damaged tissues and replace them, especially on knees and hips. Osteotomy is also another method which is characterized by the removal of infected joint thus preserving the natural joint.

Osteo Relief Institute has introduced a free introductory screening for their patients to determine whether one is suffering from osteoarthritis. It has also launched the knee pain relief program to help its patients stay healthy, active and live with less or no pain after surgery. It is guided by the principle that each person deserves to try every possible available option to avoid the more aggressive and invasive procedures.

After graduating from law school at the University of Toronto, he traveled to Europe. While in Belgium, he tasted a great beer that got him excited about beer on tap. Later, in 1995 he started his own brewpub that began as a 184-seat location. Today, Eli Gershkovitch has expanded to include neighboring eateries and pubs and Steamworks, his first location now seats 754.

Recently, Steamworks competed in the 2017 U.S. Open Beer Championship. Steamworks competed with 6,000 other beers for awards. Countries that participated included the U.S., Canada, Vietnam, Australia, Belgium, and Venezuela. The categories available to compete in ranged from non-alcoholic to lagers and from ales to hybrids and barrel aged. Everyone can enter from home brewers to established breweries. They each compete to win medals and a lot of notoriety.

Steamworks has been garnering notoriety for quite some time since it started producing an average of fifteen to seventeen beers per year. In its earliest years, it capped out at six beers per year. Now, even with Eli Gershovitch’s extensive research before rolling out a new beer, he releases over ten new flavors annually. Its pumpkin ale, Steamworks’ Pale Ale, Lion’s Gate Lager and its new Flagship IPA are in high demand in Canada and fourteen states in America.

Eli Gershovitch has come a long way from his origins as a barrister who represented business owners seeking liquor licenses. In 1995, when he was ready to open his own venture, he had the liquor license trials and tribulations of the past as a reference to guide his efforts. Eli Gershovitch also overcame the limits on the region set against steam breweries by buying a building that was 100 years old and used steam heat. He later reallocated that resource to create his Steamworks craft beers.

Power bills are recurrent expenditures that will strain your budget every month if not controlled well. You should budget your monthly expenditure to ensure that the power bills do not rise beyond the proposed levels. On this note, it should be noted that slight deviations on the monthly expenditure will have an enormous impact on the overall yearly expenditure. This will then result in high yearly expenditure that will, in turn, lower the savings you would make for your financial development. It should be noted that the power bill is very critical in ensuring sound personal financial development.

In regard to this Stream Energy provides some of the tips that would ensure low energy consumption and thus low power bills. One should always switch off the TV whenever no one is watching the TV. This will ensure there is no power lost through TV that no one is watching. Another tip to ensure low power consumption is the turning off the computers whenever they are not in use. Ensure to switch the socket off once you have completed using the computer. Sometimes it is better to unplug the computer cable from the socket. This will ensure the computer does not restart once it is switched off.

Another tip according to Stream Energy is the fact of unplugging a water dispenser that is not in use from power sockets (http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20160125006123/en/Stream-Launches-Smart-30-Thermostat-Plan). This will ensure that there is no power that is consumed through unnecessary cooling or heating of the water in the water dispenser. All the above tips will ensure that there is no wastage of power in the house, and only the power that is useful is consumed. According to research conducted by Stream Energy, this tips can reduce the power usage by around 30%. If your power bill was one 50$ per month, it would reduce to 35$ making a yearly saving of 180$.
